Fly-half David Skrela has pulled out of Saturday's Test against Argentina because of illness and been replaced by Maxime Mermoz, French delegation chief Jean Dunyach said on Thursday.

Skrela has not been able to train since Tuesday because of gastroenteritis which also ruled winger Aurelien Rougerie out of the match.

Centre Mermoz played in the 17-42 defeat to South Africa in Cape Town on June 12 and had initially been overlooked for the final Test of the season.

He takes Skrela's place on the bench.
